Year-Round Program
Outdoor Preschool
Full-day preschool for children ages 2.5 to 5 years old
overview
Springwood’s Outdoor Preschool Program offers children ages 2.5 - 5 years old a full day, year-round, outdoor education.
A child’s day at Springwood includes a thoughtfully designed, learner-led curriculum and comforting daily rituals. While routines may shift to adapt to the weather, we create a rhythm children can predict. Children make discoveries, solve problems, engage in meaningful play, and learn firsthand how to thrive in the wilderness.
We focus on the individual child, and encourage students to advocate for their biological and emotional needs. As children gain confidence through their experiences, they build resilience for more complex learning and social relationships in Kindergarten and beyond.

Year-Round Program
Forest School
Outdoor education for children ages 5 - 11 years old
Overview
Springwood’s Forest School Program offers school-age children a full day, year-round outdoor education with options to attend 1 - 3 days per week.
Forest School is available for students as young as five years old. We recommended this program for children with prior group learning experiences through a preschool, public elementary, or organized sports/arts. The part time schedule may pair well with homeschool partnership programs, such as Saratoga School.
The schedule is designed with an intentional contrast to the academic rigor of a traditional school day, with time for free play and socialization. Children will explore the 50 acre preserve, with opportunities to use real tools, learn wilderness skills, and make friends.
